ES-5968 Count Georges Florent Auguste Marie Moens of Fernig ( Liège , August 28 , 1899- Zelem , August 16 , 1978) was Belgian Minister and Commissioner - General of Expo 58 . Interrupting a career in industry, Moens was, as a technician not belonging to a political party, Minister of Supply (1946, Spaak II government ), supply and import (1947-1949, Spaak III government). ) and foreign trade (1948-1949). He was also appointed co-ordinator for the execution of the Marshall Plan in Belgium. In 1951 he was appointed commissioner-general of the government for the World Expo in Brussels ( Expo 58 ). After 1959, he worked as a banker with Banque Lambert and the Société Générale Bank of Belgium . He was also president of Fabrimetal and consul-general of Honduras . In 1934 Georges Moens obtained permission to add 'de Fernig' to his name. In 1949 he received nobility concession with the title of transmissible baron and in 1959 the title of count. He was the son of Albert Moens and Laure Fournier. In 1924 he married Georgette Baës (1906-1930) and in 1932 Christiane van der Wallen of Fernig (1913-2000). With his second wife he had four children.
