Description: Santa Cruz Traffic Management Conference 1989 poster, illustration by Renee Flower, size 13 ½” x 19 ¼” in good condition on heavy stock paper with minor wear on the edges; poster shows modern pop art of different people including men, women, children, a person in a wheel chair, a boat, a carpool full of people, a spaceship and a bus full of people, to promote the benefit of transportation alternatives; distributed to primarily to companies; stored in rolled condition. The event was held on Oct. 6, 1989, at the Cocoanut Grove Conference Center in Santa Cruz. This comes from my personal Museum of Ridesharing, which I accumulated in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Back then, I worked for various government agencies to promote transportation alternatives like carpools, transit / buses, vanpools, bicycling, and telecommuting. The goal was to reduce air pollution. From 1984 - 1992, I was an Account Executive for Commuter Computer San Diego, a Ridesharing Coordinator for the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments, and the Public Information Specialist--Transportation for the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District. In those days, posters like this were distributed to companies for their bulletin boards; this specimen was never posted, but instead it was stored in a rolled condition, away from light. I think this poster is rather unique; I don't think very many examples still exist. If you buy this, I will pack it carefully in a tube and ship it to you direct. Thanks for taking a moment to read my listing! And remember, please rideshare whenever you can!
