Description: MCM Austin Productions Terra Cotta Sculptures Stylish Fashion Klara Sever 1974 Description Mid Century Modernist Klara Sever designed in 1974 these sculpted figures of a man and a woman dressed in a very stylish fashion of the 1920s. These sculptures were part of a fashion display in the clothing section of a very large department store in Illinois before the birth of malls. The store closed in the early 1990s after over 100 years of business. These sculptures were created for Austin Productions Co founded in 1952. Klara signed the bottom of the terracotta base of the woman sculpture. Both sculptures are mounted on a wooden plaque. This plaque measures 20 inches long, 8 inches wide and 2 inches high. The sculptures measure roughly 25 1/2 inches high without the wooden stand, but the lady is about one inch shorter. Overall, the display is about 271/2 inches high.
