Sodalite is a dark blue stone with white inclusion, often confused with lapis lazuli. The color is slightly lighter and the texture is not as smooth in lapis. The stone is hand cut in a trapezoid shape with rounded corners. The custom setting is made from a thick gauge wire and finished with a screw type assembly right below the bail. The bail is also custom-made. The pendant is very well made. The stone is expertly cut and highly polished. The pendant measures 1 inch at the widest point. It is 2 1/4 inches tall including the bail and 3/16 of an inch deep. Completing the necklace is a beautiful, rich, rope chain measuring 2.2 mm in diameter and 20 inches in length. The necklace is in excellent condition. The chain is marked 1/20 14k GF for the gold filled content. The approximate total weight is 19.4 grams. There isn't a maker's mark.
