Description: Item under consideration is a beautiful new Lalique, 4 3/4 inch tall, footed, mouth blown crystal VASE / COMPOTE BOWL presented in the Dampierre pattern by Lalique Crystal located in Paris, France. The Dampierre pattern features a clear crystal 4 3/4 inch tall by 4 5/8 inch diameter bowl supported by a 2 1/2 inch diameter clear pedestal. The unique shape of the vase, with its short bowl, wide mouth and the contrasting satin finish of the birds/vines with the clear crystal bowl, advances the appeal of this Art Deco vase. An additional intriguing feature. Around the center of the bulbous bowl is a 2 3/4 inch wide band of alternating frosted birds and vines. There are eight, 1 1/2 inch tall by 1” wide, carved frosted crystal birds (sparrows) with their bodies facing outward. Uniquely, the eight bird heads represent four different head positions (2 duplicate sets of 4). One head facing hard to the right. The next head is facing outward slightly left. The next head is facing outward slightly right. The next head is facing hard to the left. The eight rows of vines are identical.Piece is signed by Marie Lalique (photos# 11, 12). ‘Lalique’ and “Marie’ are etched on center of base (photos# 11, 12).
