Description: Travel back in time with this old acoustic parlor guitar. It was built by Ray James Cooper (1890-1981), an obscure luthier from Shelby, Ohio. Cooper was very skilled. It is a well-built guitar. The back and sides are flamed maple. The neck has an old-fashioned v-profile. However, it is a repair project. Cosmetically, it looks old and has ordinary age and play wear. There is lacquer checking everywhere. Scuffs, nicks, and scrapes. Unfortunately, the neck has shifted into the body about 3/16". As can be seen on the top, the neck block and neck tongue have shifted towards the bridge, cracking the top on either side of the neck tongue. So, it needs a neck reset and some brace work. There are some long cracks on the back side of the body. A couple have been sloppily repaired with glue. It comes with a very old cloth gig bag. There is some fray and on it. It also comes with an old rope strap of the kind that Sears used to sell. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 46"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
