Description: This hatchet is hand made in Detroit Michigan by the up and coming Archangel Steelcrafts who specialize in fantasy / medieval swords, knives, hammers and maces. Their pieces have become fairly highly sought after by collectors. It has an iron oxide coating that gives it that dark tactical look. It's 23 inches long with a 9 inch wide (edge to edge) axe head. The cutting edges are quite functional and set at a 15 degree angle so you can put some buckshot behind your strikes without any edge chipping or burrs if need be. The dual black leather handlewrap is surprisingly durable considering I've trained pretty hard with it and it still needs to be worn in a bit. It's a nasty piece of steel because you can get it shaving sharp like a knife, but it's an axe with the specialized design of the platestock steel pattern re-enforcing it's durability. And it holds just enough heft to land penetrating strikes, but light enough to get her hissing through the air with your Obi - Ani Spin at 3 pounds. There's nothing wrong with it. It's a pretty sick chunk of steel, but Buck Knives just came out with the new 40th anniversary Buckmaster 2.0 and I'm sacrificing other pieces in my collection to save up for it. Sorry guys, I got no cash to spare nowadays. You gotta pay shipping + handling.
