Description: S & P Co. of Philadelphia, PA short for Stuart & Peterson Co. was originally founded by William Penn Cresson, a prominent Quaker . It was located near North Broad and 13th In 1862 , the foundry became the Stuart & Peterson Co. ( also Quakers) or S & P as the wares were marked. The gatemark leads us to the production dates between 1862- 1887. It measures 8-1/2 W x 6-1/2" H without handle. With the handle it is 11-1/4" High. I seen no cracks or damage. There is some pitting of the interior base, as shown. Some refer to this style pot as a Gypsy or bean pot. Please feel free to ask questions. Thank you.
