A cheaply produced volume bound in thin glossy cloth. Very good , with some rubbing to the extremities and some old staple rust to the front free endpaper. Faint waviness to the tops of the pages throughout, with only the palest dampstain visible at the rear endpapers; contents clean. In a good only dust jacket, which has been trimmed by nearly 1/2 an inch along the bottom, and which has some scuffing and chewing to the inside edges of the flaps. A pity, as the jacket is otherwise notably bright and free of chips and tears. The title story was the basis for the 1957 film starring Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich, Charles Laughton, and Elsa Lanchester, and directed by Billy Wilder. Very good / good.
