1996 Fender American Standard Stratocaster- EMG 81/85 - HSC

Description: Here is a cool 1996 50th Anniversary USA Stratocaster, presenting very clean..but relic'd. Weight 8lb 5oz (Heavy) This guitar is super clean, but has clearly had hard life. I also am not 100% sure what the story is... 1. I found this instrument with EMG 81/85's - but I added new EMG Plug and Play hardware. Also a new Pickguard. 2. The guitar is heavy, suggesting the body may be older than the neck. USA Fenders with Swimming pool routes were heavy in the 1980;s, but by 96 I would expect the guitar to be lighter. Also the neck is in much better condition than the body. 3. I think this guitar is paired with a 1980's case. 4. Although the finish cracks and body work are a little scary, I spent some hours wet sanding and compounding and did not feel any weakness resulting from the cracks. Guitar is solid.
