Description: 1940 Roy Rogers Leather Cap Gun Holster with Gun Belt & Toy Bullets - This holster is very rare and seldom seen. The maker is unknown. Appears to have been made by a real cowboy leather shop. Tooled with florals, hickory nuts, circles and Xs. The loop strap is tooled 'Roy Rogers'. There are 5 large raised triangle pyramid-shape studs at opening of holster. From top of belt loop it measures 10 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches at widest point. Sewn and has 4 Roy Rogers rivets. Has no tears or rips. Belt is marked 28 on folded end of belt near buckle, could be the size, perhaps. The tooled double sewn, thick belt has 21 bullet loops with 21 Mattel 'brass & lead' bullets. A cast iron Big Horn or similar cap gun will fit in this holster. The mate to this can be seen on page 130 of the Backyard Buckaroo by Jim Schleyer.
